Hitting On the Rise Tennis Academy was founded in September 2005. It provides each student with an outstanding quality tennis program by keeping the size of each clinic small to offer more personalized attention.  At H.O.T.R.T.A. we believe through hard work, dedication, and proper training on and off the court juniors will excel to their fullest potential. Juniors who wish to develop into sectional and nationally ranked athletes should consider H.O.T.R.T.A. there.

H.O.T.R.T.A. Programs

Elite- Juniors attending this program have been hand picked by the Director Sterling White based on their talent, commitment level, and work ethic.  This program is designed to push the junior harder than tournament training.

Tournament Training-This program has an on court ratio of 4:1. Juniors attending this program must be currently playing USTA Sanctioned Tournaments. Players must be self-motivated and ready to adhere to a regiment suitable for tournament play.  This level has an on court ratio of 4:1. Selection into this program requires approval by Director Sterling White.

High Intermediate- Juniors attending this program must be at a 3.0 level, and currently playing in USTA Sanctioned Tournaments or 3.0 level team tennis. Selection into this program requires approval by Director Sterling White.

About the Director

Sterling White has over 13 years of professional teaching experience.  He is Certified by the USPTA in 1995 he has worked as a head pro, director of tennis, and a Summer National Coach for the Eastern and Mid-Atlantic Sections of the USTA. Over the years Sterling has been fortunate to train, coach, and mold juniors from the local USTA tournaments to national level tournaments with some of his players going on to play college tennis at major universities. His mission is to provide players with an improved understanding of strokes and strategies enabling them to be fully prepared to compete during adverse match situations.
